I got the new bike all built up yesterday after work by my favourite Toronto mechanic Shannon at Red Arrow Bikes in Kensington Market.

*Disclaimer* The frame I got is an early prototype and the final design has already been changed so don’t go jumping to too many conclusions based on my frame!

I “gulped” the frame and all the bits needed to build it up and carried it over.

Shannon is the man, that’s his new wife Amy in the background, she’s cool too.  This shot was taken when he’d finished putting in the bb, headset and front end before taking the rest of the parts off my old Thrasher.

I’ll just post this teaser front end shot for now, can’t give everything away!  Check out the cool new V2 Tricksters!

And as far as first thoughts, I’ve only had the chance to ride it home in the snow and slush from his shop but so far it actually feels super fun.  It feels tiny but maybe in a good way.. I had to change to a 33t sprocket because of the particular chainstay flare on this proto and so that will have an effect on how it feels too.  Anyways, going to try to play around on it tonight after work and I’ll start to get a better idea of what it’s like.
